Non-Metastatic Prostate Cancer with Severe Anemia: Case Report and Literature Review

Prostate cancer is one of the most common tumors male urinary system and nearly causing any symptoms or signs in early stages. Complication as anemia has been rarely reported non-metastatic prostate cancer. We present herein an extremely rare case a local occurring 76-yearold man with complication severe anemia. As he was diagnosed cancer, presented rising hemoglobin level even down-regulated to 47 g/L. There no evidence tumor metastasis bone marrow which mainly cause supported by emission computed tomography specific membrane antigen positron tomography/computed tomography. According his hematological tests, iron deficiency Despite poor responsibility erythropoietin blood transfusion during whole therapy period, gradually normalized 4 months after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy neoadjuvant endocrine therapy. To our knowledge, there such accompanied ever described English literature. The presentation followed general discussion emphasis on diagnosis differential diagnosis. A review literature regarding hepcidin also discussed.
